Hi, I am Kisha Lawson, the founder of Maverick Nurses and a licensed nurse practitioner with a deep passion for trauma-informed care, holistic wellness, and cultural exploration.  Born and raised in Philadelphia, I spent twenty years living in California before returning to my hometown to bring the best of the west back to the east. With a background in healthcare and a love for lifelong learning, I have spent my career focused on exploring diverse pathways to health and well-being, both physically and mentally. I believe true healing goes beyond the body, which is why I studied dance, Reiki, spirituality, and yoga teacher training while integrating principles of self-care, trauma awareness, movement and plant medicine into my personal and professional practice.

Currently, I am working towards a Doctoral degree in Nursing Practice. 
Alongside my nursing expertise, I am deeply committed to promoting cultural exchange and education. My travels have taken me around the world to Africa, Asia, Australia, Central America, and the Caribbean, where I have had the privilege of learning from diverse cultures and discovering how different traditions shape our approach to health and healing. I am fascinated by the intersection of medicine, spirituality, and the wisdom of ancient practices, as they offer invaluable tools for modern wellness and can be combined with a biomedical model to promote holistic well-being.
Whether I am in a yoga class, supporting someone on their wellness journey, or engaging in cultural exchange, I bring empathy, curiosity, and a genuine passion for connecting with people.
